The BAR Project (Balanced Automated Robot)
Episode 1 - Things are becoming real! From design concept to the first prototype
2 Nalys engineers decided to build a complete Balanced Automated Robot from scratch. Based on Segway technology, the purpose is to design a robot capable of staying balanced with only 2 wheels. This internal project is a good occasion for them to learn new skills. It will be re-used for training sessions and presented to the Nalys Expertise Communities. To go from a conceptual design to a real system, they went to a Fab Lab.
Here comes what they did:
- Match component technical datasheets
- Validate using breadboard testing the technical functionalities of the PCB
- Create the frame for the robot based on available components & machines
- Test the electric motor and ensure controllability
